Gerard Lima's filmmaking journey began in 2013 when he boldly self-funded his own production, taking on multiple roles to deeply understand the film industry's nuances. With a bachelor's degree in business management, Lima skillfully combined his business acumen and cinematic passion to advance his career and nurture emerging talents through Lima Films, his own studio.
Lima's breakthrough came in 2015 at the Melbourne International Film Festival, where he won Best Music Video and Director awards, launching a prolific career. He has since written and produced 19 films, directing seven. His versatility shines through his successes, such as his 2017 second-place win in the HBO/Cinemax Urban Action Showcase Action Script Contest for "Brother's in Arms" and accolades for the TV Pilot "The Legend of Kung Funk." In 2018, he secured another second-place win for Best Short Film with "Birth of the Daywalker." His talent extends beyond storytelling, earning him the Best Original Score award for "Lawless Law" at the 2022 Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival. Lima's diverse filmography reflects his dedication to creative excellence and boundary-pushing in cinema.
